Technology Services
We assist your organization to build integrated, interoperable
and cost-effective systems to protect its most valuable
assets, the organizations own information and the privacy
of your customers’ information. We devise strategies
to “know your customer” and to meet new governmental
and financial requirements. We also provide recommendations
on appropriate, affordable new technologies including biometric
and non-biometric solutions and deploy them within your
organization.
"Are They Who They Say They Are?SM"
Clearly, to know who your customers are, is becoming more
complicated. To protect the privacy of your customers and
reestablish trust in the business community, we need to
move to something more proactive. Presently, to process
a transaction such as lease a vehicle, cash a check or remove
funds from an ATM, organizations recognize something a customer
has, i.e., in-wallet information such as driver’s
license, ID, or passport; and/or something a customer knows,
i.e., out-of-wallet information such as SSN, pin code, or
password. However, these are not real “identifiers”;
criminals present fake ID all the time. To effectively know
who your customer is in today’s world, we need something
they are, i.e., a fingerprint or signature, to compare to
a purported and presented fingerprint or signature. It’s
the ability to electronically compare a qualified identifier
against a presented identifier, which makes biometrics so
powerful and effective. Many of us have heard of biometrics
as a means to combat crime. For example, you currently
require your customers to use a static form identifier,
such as a signature to perform necessary business activities
such as the signing of a document. Integrating a biometric
device to capture a unique identifier such as a signature,
electronically, that can uniquely identify the individual
customer who signed the document, will improve the business
benefit. It is a tool to protect your business and your
customers’ privacy.
We need to Put Privacy Back Into People’s IdentitySM,
yours and your customers.
Biometrics is a tool being deployed more every day in financial
institutions and government agencies. Very rapidly
these changes are going to affect the way everyone does
business. Similar to how the Internet impacted our
lives in the 90s, biometrics will affect our lives and the
way we do business in the 2000s. It is here and here
to stay!
Biometrics is a method to mathematically measure an individual’s
behavioral and physiological characteristics. Examples of
behavioral biometrics include voice, signature and typing
recognition; while physiological examples are fingerprint,
hand geometry and iris scan. These methods are going
to be future prerequisites for doing business in any B-to-B
and B-to-C environment.
While the processes are slowly being adopted, the cost of
not adopting them can no longer be ignored. According to
the Federal Trade Commission report on identity fraud of
September 2003, identity fraud had cost American businesses
over $53 billion in the previous year. They estimate
that the worldwide cost will reach $2 trillion by 2005.
As a result of our years of investigating fraud and identity
fraud, we have recognized the benefit of the new sciences
that have developed and have dedicated over 12 years in
research and developing knowledge and software for our clients’
benefit. We have an affiliate company whose entire business
is to take new, emerging technology and make it useful for
business and government.
